Village Hall Chic - how to transform your local village hall into the perfect party venue

Alternative, local, venues are becoming increasingly popular for both weddings and parties. So we were thrilled to be asked to decorate a church hall for an 80th birthday celebration! With rustic brick walls and wooden beams, what's not to love about these often cheaper alternatives to traditional celebration venues?

For this 80th birthday party, the guest of honour, Felicity, loved blue and white so much so that the invitations to her birthday instructed guests to wear outfits to match the colour scheme! And we loved getting involved and planning the details to match with these beautiful seaside hues.

As is often the case at local village or church halls, the chairs were practical rather than stylish, so we used our stretch white covers to give us a blank canvas to work with. Adding a royal blue sash took the chairs from dreary to dreamy in an instant! Paired with white tablecloths with a baby blue runner and our signature beribboned jam jar flower arrangements, the hall was transformed.

The brick walls and wooden beams of the hall provided a stunning backdrop to metres of pretty blue bunting strung across the ceiling, making the space cosier and more inviting for the guests.

We used our white rose mirror seating plan in the entrance hall to welcome Felicity's guests into the party - the perfect elegant finishing touch.
